NEW YORK — Grout needs cleaning up, too.
It’s a major reason that the city’s sidewalks and public spaces are often littered with garbage and other junk.
And when it comes to grout, it’s easy to make a mess.
“I think grout is probably one of the dirtiest surfaces you can create a lawn,” says Chris Jaffe, a former landscape architect who is the founder of the nonprofit Grout Solutions.
“You’ve got to have something that will hold the grout in place.”
Jaffe says it’s important to maintain a clean environment when working with grout.
That means putting up mulch, installing plastic mulch and removing old paint.
And it also means washing your hands.
“There are so many people who are working on grout that they’ve got an idea of how it looks.
And that’s why I think you have to look for something that’s really, really clean,” Jaffe says.
Grout is also hard to maintain.
“The more you’re using it, the more likely it is to rot,” says Jaffe.
And it’s hard to get rid of grout if it’s not cleaned up properly.
“If you don’t do your grout a good job, it will become a major problem,” Jaffa says.
So when you’re at home and you’re cleaning your grouts, be sure to do all you can to keep them looking good.
And remember, there are plenty of other things to clean your lawn.
